The pine leans toward my house — how urgent is it?
A loblolly that leans, has a lifting root plate or has lost its top is a removal, not a pruning, and the sooner the better before the next ice storm. A leaner over the house usually comes out by crane in a morning.
Does my HOA have to approve a tree removal?
In Afton Village, Christenbury, Moss Creek and most northwest subdivisions, yes — usually with an arborist's letter. We prepare it with the estimate.
Do I need a city permit to take down a yard tree?
Usually not for a tree in your own yard in Concord. The exceptions are development lots (Article 11) and public trees (Chapter 50). We check and tell you honestly.
Should I remove my Bradford pear before it splits?
Yes. They split at the narrow crotches around 15 to 20 years, usually in a storm and usually onto something. Removal and stump grinding is cheaper than the roof repair.
Can you clear a lot in Skybrook or off Highway 73?
Yes — selective clearing with the city's development rules, stumps ground below grade, lot left build-ready.
